There isn’t really a ton to say about this. It’s Yosemite. The granite is real, the vistas are unreal. We hiked around for about 4 hours, which put the boys at over 5 miles… which is probably about 4 miles more than their little legs are used to. Despite not being terribly crowded, Maui was on high alert the whole time and Auggie didn’t seem to notice anything or anyone. So… a pretty standard outing. One dog army crawls his way through the world like literally everything is out to kill him (Maui) and the other is basically a furry Mr. MaGoo with better eyesight. 🤷‍♂️

Tunnel View

When you approach from the south entrance, as we did, you go through a short tunnel and burst into a view of El Capitan and Half Dome (don’t quote me on that) that pretty much renders the rest of the stuff you’ll see pointless. It’s a bit like starting your whodunnit novel by telling whodiddit but it’s still worth continuing into the belly of the park.

Photos!

Hiking and, Well… More Hiking. That’s All You Can Do Here.

We took a few trails marked as moderate and paved, since that’s all the boys were allowed to do. Luckily that doesn’t cost you any of the park’s grandiosity. I’ll say this about Yosemite, short of the port-o-pottys there’s not a place you can stand and look without being impressed. Most of these are of the Upper and Lower Falls… I think. The top middle one might be El Cap from afar but honestly… it’s hard to take photos and wrangle dogs at the same time so you get what you get.
